- Jallianwala Bagh Massacre refers to the incident that took place in 1919 at Amritsar’s Jallianwala Bagh.
- This year is the 102nd anniversary of the incident.
- On April 13, 1919 people gathered at the Jallianwala Bagh to celebrate the festival of Baisakhi.
- The Police Officer General Dyer ordered his troops to shoot the people.
- After this, the Hunter commission was formed to enquire this.
- General Dyer’s action was praised by Punjab Lieutenant Governor Sir Michael O’ Dwyer.
