- The sub categorisation has resulted in ambiguities in the Central list.
- The panel was formed under former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court G Rohini on October 2, 2017.
- The commission was tasked to identify castes, communities, sub-castes, synonyms in the central list of OBCs and classifying them into sub-categories.
