Kallakurichi district has officially come into existence as the 34^th district of Tamilnadu on 26.11.19.
It comprises Thirukovilur, Shankarapuram, Ulundurpet, Chinnasalem and Kalrayan Hills taluks with two revenue divisions -- Kallakurichi and Thirukovilur.
