- Leading consumer products companies such as Coca-Cola India, PepsiCo India and Bisleri have launched a first-of-its-kind packaging waste management venture in the country.
- The venture is called Karo Sambhav.
- It will focus on creating a formal eco-system for collection of post-consumer packaging and optimising material recycling processes.
- Karo Sambhav is a producer-led and owned venture that aims to ensure that no recyclable packaging material ends up in landfills by 2025.
- Beverage industry states that nearly 90 per cent of the PET bottles are recycled and has plans to Ban 200 ml bottles.
