Keezhadi excavation

  • The Excavations in the Keezhadi in Sivagangai district have uncovered dice made of ivory.
  • This dice weighs 4 grams and has 5 cm cube with 1 point, (i.e) with 6 points marked on six sides.
  • An ivory comb was found during the first excavation that had already taken place.
  • Later, with the discovery of a 6th century silver coin, a gold earring was recently discovered during an excavation in the Agaram near the Keezhadi.
  • The Pottery parts containing 13 letters (Tamil) have been found.
  • The pot may have been written with thorns.
  • Earlier, parts of pot with the names Aadan and Uthiran were found.
  • With a maximum of parts of pottery containing 7 alphabetical letters found earlier, now this one with 13 letters is considered to be a testament to the fact that educated people lived here.
  • Also at the bottom is a red grain container.
  • Also, five more pots have been found in the pit where this pot was found.
