Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 300 MW Kishanganga Hydroelectric Project in Bandipora District of Jammu & Kashmir.
He also laid the foundation stone of 1000 MW capacity Pakal Dul Power Project.
Pakal Dul Dam is proposed 167m concrete-face rock-fill dam (CFRD) on Marusadar River, a tributary of Chenab River in Kishtwar district of J&K.
With 1000 MW capacity, it will be largest Hydro Power Project in J&K on completion and it will be also first storage project for power generation in J&K.
Kishanganga Hydroelectric project is 37 m high concrete faced rockfill dam (CFRD) constructed on Kishanganga River in Jhelum River basin in Bandipora in Jammu and Kashmir.
