- Chhattisgarh will confer Kishore Sahu memorial national award to veteran film director and screenwriter Shyam Benegal.
- The award was constituted this year by the cultural department in memory of Kishore Sahu.
- Sahu was a film actor, director and producer who appeared in 22 films between 1937 and 1980 and directed over 20 movies.
- The award will be given to creative writers, directors, actors and screenwriters in Hindi and Chhattisgarhi cinema.
