- Ukraine has inaugurated a new metal dome which encases the destroyed reactor at the infamous Chernobyl Nuclear plant.
- The dome has been named as New Safe Confinement.
- It is the world’s largest movable metal structure.
- The Chernobyl nuclear power in Soviet Russia station saw the world’s worst civilian nuclear accident on April 26, 1986.
- Hundreds of people died and 3,50,000 people were evacuated.
