- Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the state cabinet has decided to give the permanent status of a cabinet minister to former chief minister Pratapsingh Rane.
- Mr. Rane is currently a Congress MLA representing the Poriem Assembly segment.
- The decision to accord him the honour was taken as Mr. Rane has completed 50 years as a legislator in the Goa Assembly during his current tenure.
