- Punjab Government has launched Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojna (MGSVY) for the welfare of the distressed sections of the society across the state.
- It will be on the line of Antyodaya principles (i.e., rise of the last person) and will be implemented to benefit 18 marginalized sections living in rural areas of state.
- Its objective is to help distressed sections of the society by helping them socially, economically or psychologically.
