The Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve in Assam have witnessed a sharp rise in the population of rhinos and tigers.
The authorities of the national park expect the tiger population will rise to more than 60 from 48 as per the 2021 census.
The park’s Rhino population has also increased.
Manas National Park is a national park that has been given the status of UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site, an elephant reserve, a Project Tiger reserve, and a biosphere reserve.
It is located in the Himalayan foothills of Assam and is contiguous with Bhutan’s Royal Manas National Park.
