Marathi Journalism day – January 6

On 6th January 1832, Balshastri Jambhekar started the first newspaper 'Darpan’.
It was also the first Marathi News Paper.
Jambhekar is known as Father of Marathi journalism.
He was also born on January 6 in 1812 at the Konkan region of Maharashtra state.
