- In Tamil Nadu, 12,800 newly elected urban civic body ward councilors took the oath of office.
- Indirect elections for the posts of Mayors and Deputy Mayors of municipal corporations, Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons of municipalities, and town panchayats were held across the State on March 4.
- This is the first time that the 21 municipal corporations, 138 municipalities, and 489 town panchayats have elected representatives after a gap of six years.
- Of the 20 Mayor posts, DMK Government has allotted 11 to women and 9 to men.
