- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami inaugurated a grand memorial built for former CM J Jayalalitha on 27th January in marina beach.
- It is modelled on a phoenix to depict her political resurgence against all odds.
- Her signature slogan "Makkalal Naan Makkalukkaga Naan" is brightly engraved on the mausoleum.
