- Raghuvansh Prasad Singh was a Member of Parliament in the 15th Lok Sabha.
- He also served in the 11th ,12th, 13th and 14th Lok Sabha.
- He started his political career when he was elected as an MLA and was subsequently made the energy minister of Bihar.
- He is known as the architect of India’s biggest welfare programme, the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in 2006.
