- The first-ever Bimstec (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) anti-terror military exercise held at Pune in Maharashtra
- The armies of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Myanmar only participating in the exercise.
- Nepal and Thailand have sent only “observers” to the “Milex-2018” exercise.
- The aim of the exercise was to create synergy, better understanding and evolve an institutionalized military forum for regional cooperation in the field of counter-terrorist operations among the member states.
