- India and Nepal signed a MoU to build a strategic railway line connecting Bihar’s Raxual city to Kathmandu on side-lines of 4th BIMSTEC Summit held in Nepal.
- This rail line is expected to expand connectivity by enhancing people-to-people linkages between the two countries and promoting economic growth and development
- There are three other railway projects in the pipeline — New Jalpaiguri-Kakarbhitta, Nautanwa-Bhairahawa and Nepalgunj Road-Nepalgunj.
