Chief Minister M K Stalin launched this project in Chennai aimed at developing the government schools in the state with private participation.
It aims to better equip government schools in terms of infrastructure and reputation.
It will be the programme amongst educationalists and members of non-profit organisations (NGOs).
Through this scheme, former students who have studied in government schools and are now holding high positions in various companies, former students who are businessmen and socially concerned organizations (NGOs) will adopt government schools through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds, infrastructure of the schools,
The scheme will be launched to improve basic facilities like perimeter wall, painting, internet facilities, sanitary toilets, laboratories, libraries etc.
Venu Srinivasan, chairman of TVS Motors is the chairman for the Namma School Foundation while Vishwanathan Anand is the brand ambassador.
Namma Oor Palli scheme is an extension of the same.
Namma oor palli lays the foundation for bringing local students, alumni, industrial sector and expatriate Tamils living across the world.
Earlier, the chief minister renamed the DPI complex of the state school education department as “Perasiriyar K Anbazhagan Education Complex”.
