National Ayurveda Day – 02 November

  • The day was celebrated across the country by the Ministry of AYUSH.
  • Ayurveda is an integral aspect of the healthcare system of India.
  • It holds recognition as a traditional medicine system by World Health Organization (WHO).
  • The Union Ministry of AYUSH started observing Dhanvantari Jayanti (also called Dhanteras) as Ayurveda day in 2016.
  • In the year 2021, the day was observed under the theme “Ayurveda for Poshan (Nutrition)”.
