- This is the day when the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 had received the assent of the President.
- The theme of 2019 is “alternate consumer grievance/dispute redressal”.
- The rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 flow from the rights enshrined in Articles 14 to 19 of the Constitution of India.
- National Consumer Helpline - Call 1800-11-4000 or 14404.
- The World Consumer Rights Day is observed on 15 March.
- The consumer is having the following six consumer rights under the Act:
- Right to Safety
- Right to be Informed
- Right to Choose
- Right to be heard
- Right to seek Redressal
- Right to Consumer Education.
