- This day was established in February 2015.
- It aims to deworm all children (both enrolled and unenrolled) from 1 to 19 years of age.
- As many as 22 crore children in the age bar between 1 to 14 are estimated to be at risk of worm infections.
- The theme of this year’s programme is ‘Eliminate STH: Invest in a healthier future for children’.
- This day was organised twice a year in February and august.
