National Deworming Day - February 10

  • Every year February 10 and August 10 are observed as the National Deworming Day (NDD).
  • The day aims at eradicating intestinal worms among children within the age bracket of 1-19 years.
  • These worms are also referred as Soil-Transmitted Helminths (STH).
  • Intestinal worms are parasites that live in the human intestines.
  • It consumes nutrients and vitamins that a toddler consumes.
