- On this day in 2001, the Energy Conservation Act was executed by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).
- It aims to spread awareness about the importance of energy and the need of conserving energy by using less energy.
- The Ministry of Power is celebrating Energy Conservation Week from 9th to 14th December 2022 under BEE mass drive.
