NATGRID has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB)
It is to access the centralised online Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) database for getting details of First Information Reports (FIRs) and stolen vehicles.
With the access to CCTNS database, NATGRID will act as a link between intelligence and investigation agencies.
It will provide a link between the data of 14,000 police stations from across the country.
But the State police will not be part of NATGRID.
The initiative of NATGRID was proposed by after the 2008 Mumbai Attacks.
