- Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has prepared National Inventory Report on Wastes Generation and its Management on annual basis.
- It is prepared based on the annual inventory received from the concerned State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs) / Pollution Control Committees (PCCs).
- India generated 3.47 million tonnes of plastic waste during financial year 2019-20.
- India recycled around half of the plastic waste generated across the country.
