The National Pollution Control Day is observed annually on December 2 to create awareness on controlling and managing pollution produced by industrial processes or human negligence.
The day is observed in remembrance of the innocent lives that were lost in the Bhopal gas tragedy in 1984.
The year 2019 marks the 35^th anniversary of the Bhopal gas tragedy.
