New benches of NCLT

- The Government has approved the establishment of two new benches of National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
- One will be at Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh and the other will be at Indore in Madhya Pradesh.
- This step has been taken keeping in view of the increasing case load, especially under the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code 2016.
- NCLT is a quasi-judicial body in India that adjudicates issues relating to Indian companies.
- It was established under the Companies Act 2013 and was constituted on 1 June 2016.
