TN govt has decided to set up a native seed species vault at Tamil Nadu Forest Academy, Coimbatore, at a cost of ₹10 crore.
The Community-based eco-tourism will be developed at Rameswaram & Gulf of Mannar at Rs 15 cr.
Dark sky park will be set-up at Kolli Hills, Namakkal.
Crocodile conservation will be set up at Anakkarai Kumbakonam range at Rs 2.50 crore.
In order to commemorate the legacy of renowned wildlife biologist AJT Johnsingh, the government has proposed to create an annual ‘Dr AJT Johnsingh Wildlife Conservation Award’.
It will be awarded to a wildlife enthusiast who has immensely contributed towards excellence in wildlife conservation.
