International Energy Agency (IEA) released a report titled ‘A new era of nuclear energy’.
Currently nuclear provides just under 10% of global electricity supply.
As of the end of 2024, there were 63 nuclear reactors (71 GW) under construction.
More than 40 countries around the world have plans to expand Nuclear’s role in their energy systems.
Since 2017, China has started construction on 25 reactors, and Russia on 23 reactormore than 99% of the enrichment capacity takes place in four supplier countries, with Russia accounting for 40% of global capacity.
The annual investment in nuclear energy needs to double to USD 120 billion by 2030 to meet projected demand.
