- The Central Government appointed senior BJP leader from Tamil Nadu C.P. Radhakrishnan has been appointed as the new Governor of Jharkhand.
- He was twice elected to the Lok Sabha from Coimbatore.
- He was Chairman of the All India Coir Board from 2016 to 2019.
- He will replace the present Governor of the state, Ramesh Bais.
- The number of persons from Tamil Nadu who have been appointed as Governors since 2014 has increased to five.
