- By accepting the recommendations made by the collegium, the Centre notified the appointment of 5 Judges to the Supreme Court.
- The panel of judges known as the collegium, which makes the recommendations, had in December sent for elevation to the Supreme Court.
- Now the total strength of judges in the top court to 32.
- Currently, the Supreme Court of India has a sanctioned strength of thirty-four Judges.
