- Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the new Light Combat Helicopter Production Hangar in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Complex at Bengaluru.
- LCH is designed by HAL and the project is a part of the “Make in India” initiative.
- LCH has the distinction of being the first attack helicopter to land in Forward Bases at Siachen, 4700 meters above sea level with 500kg load.
- India has set a target of achieving Rs 35,000 crores of Defence Exports by 2024.
- It is believed that Manufacturing of the Light Combat Helicopter will help India achieving it.
