- The Ministry of Home Affairs has released a new political map of India after the reorganization of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
- The new map of India consists of 28 states and 9 Union Territories.
- These two new union territories of India duly came into existence on 31 October 2019.
- On 02 November 2019, the map of both the new union territories were released.
- According to the new map, Mirpur and Muzaffarabad districts of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) have been described as part of Jammu and Kashmir.
- There will be a total of 22 districts in Jammu and Kashmir including these two districts.
- This map was prepared by the Survey General of India.
