- NITI Aayog released third edition of Sustainable Development Index for 2020-2021.
- The index is developed in collaboration with the United Nations in India.
- The Index evaluates the progress of states and union territories on social, economic and environmental parameters.
- Kerala retained its rank as the top state with a score of 75.
- Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu retained its second position with a score of -74
- Bihar has been adjudged as the worst performer.
