- The 10th Indian Organ Donation Day was celebrated on 30 November 2019.
- Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh were bestowed with awards for organ donation the event was organized by NOTTO (National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization) of Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry (MoHFW).
- Tamil Nadu was bestowed with Best State award in cadaveric organ donation for the fifth time.
- Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu won the Best Performing Hospital award.
- According to the Global Observatory on Donation and Transplantation (GODT), India performs second largest number of transplants in the world next to the USA.
