- “Ocean Services, Modelling, Application, Resources and Technology (O-SMART)” scheme has been extended for the period of 2021-26.
- This was approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- The O-SMART scheme comprises seven sub-schemes.
- All of the sub-schemes are being implemented by autonomous institutes of the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
