- West Bengal Government has unveiled the official emblem of the state government, which was recently approved by the centre.
- The emblem highlights the ‘Biswa Bangla’ theme, and also has the features of national emblem, the Ashoka Pillar.
- The emblem was designed by Ms. Banerjee, was vetted by a State government committee headed by eminent artist Jogen Chowdhury and then sent to the Centre for approval in May.
- Biswa Bangla is an MSME enterprise established by the Government of West Bengal to promote handicrafts of the West Bengal.
