- On the 125th anniversary of Olympic games International Olympic Committee has formally opened its new headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.
- The inauguration of new headquarters comes exactly 125 years after Olympic Games were revived by Pierre de Coubertin.
- The IOC is the governing body of the National Olympic Committees (NOCs).
- It is responsible for conducting both Summer and Winter Olympics.
