- The Karnataka Cabinet decided to ban online gambling or betting in the state by amending the Karnataka Police Act, 1963.
- Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala have already banned online rummy game.
- But the Madras High Court in august 2021 struck down a recent amendment (2020) made to the Tamil Nadu Gaming Act of 1930.
