The Uttar Pradesh state government has given the nod to shoot the man-eating wolf/wolves at sight in Bahraich.
The state government has also declared it a 'Wildlife Disaster' affected area.
The state government has launched 'Operation Bhediya' to address the issue comprehensively.
Under this operation, drone cameras and thermal drone mapping techniques are being used by the Forest Department to catch the wolves.
The Chief Wildlife Warden can allow hunting of a Schedule I wild animal if it poses a danger to humans by issuing a written order explaining the reasons.
