- The United Kingdom, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles and Spain are Joined in this multi-national security initiative.
- The Red Sea is a critical waterway that has been essential to freedom of navigation and a major commercial corridor that facilitates international trade.
- Recently, Houthi militants from Yemen have attacked or seized commercial ships 12 times.
- Earlier in November, Houthi militants also hijacked an India-bound ship named Galaxy Leader.
