- Parameswaran Iyer, a 1981-batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been appointed the chief executive officer of NITI Aayog.
- He replaces Amitabh Kant, who completes his term in the office on June 30
- He will get at least two years in the post.
- He helmed Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
- At present, he functions as the Programme Manager of 2030 Water Resources Group, a platform hosted by the World Bank for water conservation
- The Prime Minister appoints Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who holds the rank of a secretary.
- The Appointments Committee of Cabinet cleared his name for the post.
