  • The 2019 Indian general election was held in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019 to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha.
  • About 900 million Indian citizens were eligible to vote the elections.
  • The 2019 elections attracted a turnout of over 67.11 % – the highest ever in the history of Indian general elections.
  • This is as opposed to 66.4% voter turnout in the 2014 Parliamentary Elections, which will now be the second highest voter turnout in general elections in India.
