The State government of Tamilnadu would set up three permanent disaster rescue and relief centres at a cost of ₹36 crore in Chennai and its suburban areas.
Two multi-purpose relief centres will be constructed in Thoothukudi district at a cost of ₹17.50 crore.
Govt would also establish 1,000 centres that would warn people about natural disasters such as flash floods and landslides, rough sea conditions, and water release from dams.
