- The wood dates back to the Cretaceous period, which is about 100 million years ago.
- That is, it belongs to the genus Gymnosperm, which precedes the existing flowering plants, such as angiosperm.
- It is considered a rare archaeological object.
- A 1300-year-old Pallava period painting has been found on the Sanjeevi hills near the village of Pakkam near Gingee in Villupuram district.
