- Bhojpuri is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in northern-eastern India and the Terai region of Nepal.
- It is chiefly spoken in western Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
- Bhojpuri is a descendant of Magadhi Prakrit.
- Along with the Rajasthani, both are not included into the 8th schedule of the Indian Constitution.
