  • Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th around the world, which is approximately 3.14159.
  • Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter.
  • S. House of Representatives passed a non-binding resolution on March 12, 2009 and recognizing March 14, 2009 as National Pi Day.
  • The entire month of March 2014 (3/14) was observed by some as Pi Month.
  • In the year 2015, March 14 was celebrated as "Super Pi Day”.
  • Pi Approximation Day is observed on July 22 (22/7), since then fraction 22⁄7 is a common approximation of π.
