- The Union environment minister Bhupendra Yadav launched a portal called PRANA portal.
- It will be used to track the progress of the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP).
- It aims to comply with India’s commitment to ensure clean air and blue skies to everybody.
- The Non-attainment cities are those cities that failed to meet the National air quality standards in a five-year period.
- The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) seeks to achieve 20-30 percent reduction in particulate matter (PM10 as well as PM2.5) concentrations in India by 2024.
