- The Union Cabinet has approved "PRITHvi VIgyan" scheme for the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
- The scheme would be implemented between 2021-26 and encompasses five ongoing sub-schemes ACROSS, O-SMART, PACER, SAGE and REACHOUT.
- It also seeks to promote exploration of polar and high seas regions of Earth towards the discovery of new phenomena and resources.
