- The very first edition of this ranking focused on social and environmental sustainability performance in higher education institutions across the world.
- Fifteen Indian institutes and universities made it to the QS Sustainable Rankings 2023.
- It led by IIT Bombay (172), IIT Delhi, and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
- Among the 15 featured institutes, there are seven IITs and IISc.
- Delhi University, Jadavpur University, Aligarh Muslim University and Banaras Hindu University also made it to the list.
- However, none of the Indian institutes made it to the top 200.
- India’s top sustainable institute IIT Bombay is in the band of Ranks 281-300.
